According to the Huffington Post, the sustainability index will appear next to items within the next two years. This index will help Wal-Mart silence critics and satisfy socially-motivated customers. While the index seems genuine, don't be surprised if store-brand products received a little boost on the index scale.

Well they do have the finacial resources to pull this off! Not only that but they have the best information system than another other company in the world. Hopfully this will catch on if they can accomplish it and many other stores will follow! It will be interesting to see if WalMart follows through with this idea or if it is just talk.

I'm so excited about this! I really hope other companies catch on and start doing this as well. I know the Green Depot does!
